Discovering the Future of Vegas Travel: My Behind-the-Scenes Tour of The Boring Company’s Vegas Loop

By Kourtney Wagner | March 2026

Over the weekend I had the absolute pleasure of stepping inside The Boring Company’s Las Vegas headquarters for an exclusive tour, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it completely blew me away. If you live in Nevada or visit Las Vegas even once a year, this project is going to change the way you experience the city — and I’m already a huge fan.

The Boring Company team isn’t just building tunnels; they’re rewriting the rules of urban mobility. Their vision for the Vegas Loop is simple but revolutionary: move thousands of people per hour underground at high speeds so the surface streets can breathe again. No more sitting in gridlock on the Strip. No more endless Uber surges. Just hop in a Tesla and zip beneath the city.

During the tour, we got to see the actual plans and progress for what’s coming next — and it’s happening fast. The airport tunnel is literally being built as we speak. Picture this: you land at Harry Reid International Airport, grab your bags at Terminal 1, and within minutes you’re sliding into a Loop vehicle that drops you straight at your hotel. We saw the renderings for the Westgate connection — Westgate Resort & Casino to Terminal 1 in literally minutes. That’s not some far-off sci-fi dream; that’s the near-future reality they’re constructing right now.

And here’s where it gets even more exciting. In just a few years, these tunnels will expand and connect the entire city. The Strip, the Convention Center, downtown, the airport, major resorts — all linked underground. I left the tour thinking we might actually see a car-less Strip sooner than anyone expects. Say goodbye to orange cones, endless construction zones, and that familiar bumper-to-bumper crawl down Las Vegas Boulevard.

For visitors especially, this is a game-changer. Families won’t waste precious vacation hours stuck in traffic. Convention attendees can bounce between hotels and the convention center in comfort. Late-night partiers can get home safely and quickly. Nevada tourism just got a massive upgrade, and locals are going to love it too.

A huge thank-you to Tyler and Kristy at The Boring Company for taking the time to walk us through every detail of the operation. Their passion for the project is contagious, and it’s clear the entire team is laser-focused on delivering something special for our city.

If you’re in Las Vegas and want to see the future of transportation up close, keep an eye on The Boring Company — this is one Nevada innovation you’re going to be bragging about for years to come. I’ll definitely be back for another tour once the airport tunnel opens.
